We understand that the financial commitment of the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) can be daunting for many aspiring barristers. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing opportunities for undergraduates like you to pursue a career at the Bar.
We offer at least one pupillage each year exclusively to those who have yet to start the BPTC.
You will know that your career at the Bar is already on a secure path, giving you the confidence to focus on your studies and professional development without worrying about the next step.
Gaining pupillage at this stage offers candidates the opportunity to engage with experienced barristers, learn practical skills, and receive invaluable mentorship, all while still completing the necessary academic training.
By securing pupillage in advance, you can pursue your dream career with confidence, knowing that both your future and your finances are more secure.

“After starting pupillage, I observed a variety of interesting family and public cases, from junior level to KC level, and I have been actively involved in preparing hearings and documents. I have felt like a valued member of the team from the moment I got my offer, and I feel very lucky to be completing pupillage with such a kind and prestigious set. I couldn’t recommend pupillage with Spire more.”
