Sarah joined chambers as a tenant in September 2025, following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Tania Woodliffe and with mentorship from Brett Davies and Connie Purdy.
Sarah has developed a busy and varied practice across all of chambers’ areas of expertise, and she has a developing interest in inquests.
Prior to commencing pupillage Sarah served in the British Army for 22 years specialising in policy development, regulatory issues and compliance as well as managing internal discipline and grievance procedures.
Following this she worked and volunteered in the charity sector with charities supporting vulnerable young people, refugees and migrant communities. As a result, Sarah has significant experience of working with vulnerable people and those who require the assistance of an interpreter or have additional needs.
Sarah has an ability to remain calm under pressure and develop a positive rapport with clients and fellow advocates.
Sarah is committed to access to justice and undertakes pro bono work for Advocate.
In Public Law Children proceedings Sarah is regularly instructed on behalf of all parties at various stages of proceedings in cases involving neglect, substance misuse, mental health difficulties, non-accidental injury and domestic abuse. Sarah has also appeared in the High Court involving the deprivation of liberty of children and has been led on a complex case involving criminal proceedings.
In Private Law Children proceedings Sarah receives regular instructions to represent all parties in matters concerning domestic and sexual abuse, coercive control and parental alienation. Sarah’s calm and measured approach assists parties when dealing with conflict management.
Sarah has also developed a thriving practice receiving instructions from the local authority and on behalf of P on complex matters in the Court of Protection.
