Jacqui ThomasSound, wise and well-informed.

Leading Juniors – Tier 2

Ella AndersonA very capable advocate with an exceptional eye for detail.

Laura Twist An excellent advocate with genuine skill and specialist knowledge.

Spire Barristers‘ Court of Protection team is particularly notable for its work in complex medical cases, often involving complex capacity issues or time pressures. One such example is East Lancashire NHS Foundation Trust v PW, where Laura Twist acted for the NHS trust seeking best-interest declarations concerning the amputation of a schizophrenic’s infected foot, which the patient opposed: the case was heard on the same day as the operation was recommended by clinicians, due to the 48-hour time limit needed to reduce risk of further damage.
