Francesca Massarella
2nd Six Pupil
Called: 2021
Summary
Francesca commenced a family and public law pupillage at Spire in September 2021 under the supervision of Jeremy Lindsay, assisted by Reagan Persaud and Sharon Tappin.
In the year prior to commencing pupillage, Francesca contributed to Chambers’ ‘Family Law Newsletter’ bi-weekly, which kept her up to date with the latest news and developments in family law.
Before coming to the Bar, Francesca was committed to promoting the interests of vulnerable people. She volunteered with the Riding for the Disabled Association, which provides riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities and learning difficulties. She also spent time with the Welfare Rights Clinic in Harehills, Leeds, helping people with long-term health conditions, disabilities, or mental health difficulties, to apply for Personal Independence Payments.
During first six, Francesca assisted a Local Authority in preparing for a Subject Access Request by redacting important documents to ensure third party data was protected.
Francesca assisted Reagan Persaud in delivering a seminar to solicitors across the country on the Local Authority’s duty to assess family members in cases which are likely to result in a placement order. She was also involved in delivering court craft training to local social workers.
